All Around Performance owns and operates a subsidiary organization called Operation Restoration within the Greater Edmonton Area. Operation Restoration was informally started in 2020 when Daniel Yaassoub recognized the state of disrepair of our veterans’ grave markers. Dan worked with the Edmonton Police Cadets and launched an initiative to restore those markers to pristine condition. 

Operation Restoration’s mission statement is to “Provide Canadians an opportunity to participate in the act of remembrance to honour the sacrifices of our veterans.” To date, Operation Restoration has cleaned over 22,000 veteran tombstones at our annual events. They’ve also organized acts of remembrance and poppy clean-up days. A poppy clean-up day is conducted on 12 November to clean up the poppies left on tombstones in the cemeteries from the Remembrance Day ceremonies conducted annually on 11 November. Operation Restoration is a family-friendly organization. As part of their initiative, they hope to educate youth on the sacrifices made by veterans in service to the country’s call. 

Since its inception, Operation Restoration has been incorporated as an official non-profit organization and has enlisted the help of hundreds of volunteers to clean grave markers throughout the Edmonton area. Most recently, it has started to pursue charity status, allowing tax receipts for individual donations. Currently, Operation Restoration uses corporate sponsorships and All Around Performance donations as the financial means to achieve its goals.  

Operation Restoration aims to care for these local tombstones like those at the Vimy Ridge Cemetery in France. In the future, Operation Restoration plans to scale to become a nationwide initiative. They are currently working on a scalable model that would support expansion into every major population center across Canada. Possibly also engaging Canadian diasporas throughout Europe to maintain our smaller WWI and WWII sites throughout the region.
